AirShell is an SSH terminal app for iPhone and iPad. This policy explains how we handle your data. The short version: we collect almost nothing and keep everything on your device.
AirShell does not collect personal data. Specifically:
SSH passwords and private keys are stored exclusively in your device's iOS Keychain using hardware-backed encryption. They never leave your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
kSecAttrAccessibleWhenUnlockedThisDeviceOnly, meaning credentials are tied to your physical device and cannot be extracted even if an iCloud backup is compromised.Server profiles (hostname, port, username, alias) can optionally be synced across your devices via iCloud Key-Value Storage. This sync is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Passwords and private keys are never included in iCloud sync. You will need to re-enter credentials on each new device.
AirShell includes an optional voice input feature. Microphone access and speech recognition are only used when you actively hold the record button. Audio is processed on-device via Apple's Speech framework and is not sent to our servers.
Camera access is used only for scanning QR codes to import SSH connection profiles. No images or video are stored or transmitted.
In-app purchases are handled entirely by Apple via StoreKit. We do not process or store payment information. Purchase receipts are verified on-device without contacting our servers.
AirShell is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
If we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
